The sale of alcohol and pork is regulated and it’s only sold to non-Muslims in special areas all over the city such as airports, special markets… That’s because Muslims’ religion forbid them to eat pork. Dubai, however it’s known because of its nightlife and special actuations that usually take place in big hotels.
Some of the most popular Muslim food are:
STUFFED CAMEL
This dish is made of stuffed chickpea, eggs, sheep and fish in a roasted camel
AL HAREES
It is made of a recipe of wheat with a bit of salt and meat. Then, they cook all the mixture until it looks like a homogeneous dough. After some hours of repose, they serve the dish, adding whatever the consumers wants such as wheat, meat, rice…
HUMMUS
It contains chicken, olive oil, tahini paste, lemon juice, garlic and salt. It is served with different type of foods and snacks.
FALAFEL
The falafel is a deep-fried ball of patty made with chickpea and Vicia faba. This ball ais served with salads, vegetables, hot sauces…
However, apart from the Arabic food, that is what most people eat, fast food, South Asian, Chinese and Indian food is also popular in the city and you’ll find it anywhere you go. Nevertheless, although muslims have forbidden to buy alcohol in street markets, Shisha and Wahwa boutiques available to anybody who goes there.
